3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cocoa
2 tsp. melted butter
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Topping:
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. cocoa
cup hot water
Sift together dry ingredients. Add milk, butter, vanilla and nuts. Mix well, then pour into a 9 x 9 inch cake pan. Sprinkle 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. brown sugar, and 2 Tbsp. cocoa on top of batter. Pour 1 cup hot water over all. Bake 40 minutes at 350. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, or cold.
